Set up Guide Tailscale

Here's a step-by-step guide to install Tailscale on Windows and Linux, and then accept an invite link:

1. Install Tailscale on Windows

  1. Download the installer from the Tailscale website.
  2. Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions.
  3. Launch Tailscale from the Start menu or by typing tailscale in the search bar.
  4. Log in with your Tailscale account or create a new one.
  5. Accept the invite link by clicking the link provided in your email or message. See Step 6. Accept an Invite Link below

2. Install Tailscale on Linux

  1. Open a terminal.
  2. Install Tailscale using the following command: 
    curl -fsSL https://tailscale.com/install.sh | sh
  3. Start Tailscale: 
    sudo tailscale up
  4. Log in with your Tailscale account or create a new one.
  5. Accept the invite link by clicking the link provided in your email or message. See Step 6. Accept an Invite Link below

Here's a step-by-step guide to install Tailscale on macOS, iOS, and Android, and accept an invite link:

3. Install Tailscale on macOS

  1. Open your web browser and go to https://login.tailscale.com.
  2. Sign in with your Google, GitHub, or email account.
  3. After logging in, you'll be redirected to the Tailscale dashboard.
  4. Click "Download Tailscale" for macOS.
  5. Open the downloaded .dmg file and drag the Tailscale app to your Applications folder.
  6. Launch Tailscale from your Applications folder or via Spotlight.
  7. You'll be prompted to accept the Terms of Service and enable the Tailscale service.
  8. Once installed, Tailscale will prompt you to accept an invite link

4. Install Tailscale on iOS

  1. Open the App Store on your iOS device.
  2. Search for "Tailscale" and install the app.
  3. Open the Tailscale app and sign in with your Google, GitHub, or email account.
  4. You'll be prompted to accept an invite link See Step 6. Accept an Invite Link below

5. Install Tailscale on Android

  1. Open the Google Play Store on your Android device.
  2. Search for "Tailscale" and install the app.
  3. Open the Tailscale app and sign in with your Google, GitHub, or email account.
  4. You'll be prompted to accept an invite link See Step 6. Accept an Invite Link below

✅ Verification macOS, IOS/Android

  • On macOS: Open a terminal and run tailscale up to ensure the service is running.
  • On iOS/Android: Check the Tailscale app for a confirmation message that you're connected to the network.
  1. After installation and sign-in, Copy the invite link from your Tailscale admin or team member.
  2. Paste the link into the Tailscale app and click "Accept".
  3. Wait for the app to sync with your Tailscale network.
  4. Once connected, you’ll see your Tailscale IP address and be part of the network.
